Saturday Centus/Turkey Farm BreakOut

This is Saturday Centus . The prompt must be used word for word somewhere in the story on not more than 100 words. The prompt is highlighted. For complete rules see:http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com.

                                               Turkey Farm Breakout
The sun hung low on the horizon so she knew it was time. She preened her feathers, the color of cream, and mingled nonchalantly among the others while easing her way to the fence. She had been studying the escape route every evening as she admired the flock of wild turkeys grazing in neighboring fields. Indigo heads bobbed over iridescent black chests and mottled brown tail feathers. Handsome they were, but would any notice a pale face like hers?

Finally she made the break across corn stubble easing towards the hedge row. Close enough for guttural sounds, she heard a gobbler. “Pardon me," said Tom T. Urkee..."

Super job! Funny point of view of the hen checking out the wild turkeys. I can imagine him like a feathered Marlon Brando in The Wild Bunch with a leather jacket, etc. Yeah, it's hard to resist a bad boy Tom. LOL!

Run, woman! Run!!!

I don't know. I'm afraid I hear the blast of a gun in the background. Sometimes true love is dealt a blow that wrecks the best-laid plans of mice, men and turkey hens. After all, folks need their Thanksgiving meal!

Those wild boys lure us every time, don't they? Very clever! I am so glad she broke free and will now be a Wild Turkey! :)

I just posted my story. Please stop by and check it out.

Wow, what a wonderful book collection. And you holiday tea looks very inviting. I wanted to let you know the "Autumn Rose" teacup has "Wedding Anniversary" written on the inside (it's typed it above the picture). I tried to find the exact one elsewhere for more info. but didn't have any luck. Thanksgiving Blessings, Lisa

I loved this!

You made me laugh so hard!

What a fun week of prompts this is. I'm gonna have to come up with something clever at Christmas!

I really liked the descriptive quality of this writing as well.

Thank you for linking.

Lovely Centus. I agree with Tina. Your text reminds me of Chicken Run. But that's alright. You have some very nice details, such as 'a pale face'.
Well done.
Best wishes,
Anna
