Sataurdy Centus

Every hear the saying "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get!" Well, that is me. I just can not catch up for real, but I want to do a Centus again. So a quick shot at this prompt and back to my chore list on a cold and damp day--again! If you want full rules and to read other stories, please visit Jenny at

Sunday Mornings Past

My dad wore gray Key work clothes and black engineer boots made by Red Wing everyday. But on Sunday he donned nice trousers with a slick sheen, topped by a white shirt with long sleeves rolled up his forearm, and a wide tie of vibrant color and bold pattern.  He hated dress clothes, so right after Mass, he would change and head for the kitchen to make his one specialty, pancakes. The humming began, then singing to us as the griddle heated. Sunday mornings brought out a lovely lightness in him. “Hush little baby, don’t you cry. I long to hear that voice again…..

Sounds like a happy Sunday morning... perfect for a rainy, dreary day like it is here today.

Re. "catching up" - I have decided it's better just to try to jump back in and "keep up". Past is past - had its share of joys & adventure. Today is a new day. Somehow it helps me just to identify what needs to be done "today" and dive in and do it. The thought of "catching up" is just too overwhelming.

Kudos for taking the time to do a Centus!

Claudia, I hear you on the behinder issue. And since I am so behind, I am reading the SC links for a treat for myself on this bright and breezy Arizona fternoon.

I felt the memories in this amazing visualization. The poignancy of the words resonated with me even more with the clean quality of the writing.

Beautiful.
